Thanksgiving Feast

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving feast during school recently. Each student represented either an Indian or a Pilgrim. We had been learning about the first Thanksgiving and our finale was to actually enjoy a feast together. We all recognized that the first Thanksgiving didn't consist of Mac & Cheese and chicken nuggets, but it seemed fitting for our group. It was a happy time for everyone!

Here are a couple of group photos--- Pilgrims and Indians prepare to feast.

I think their little faces say it all!

Fishing!

One of our early themes was our Ocean Theme. We had a great time exploring fish that live in the ocean and tying our theme to other areas of our curriculum. In the bottom picture, students were given a fishing pole and the task to fish for their names. It was a fun way to reinforce their name recognition. In the first picture, our preschoolers each created a bubble fish from bubble wrap. We wrapped up our ocean theme with a water day. Students played on the big waterslide and cooled off in our little pool.
